Time Suspended

Hello everyone πŸ™‚

How have the first two weeks of 2020 been treating you? Very well, I sincerely hope?

And how about me, you might ask? Truth be told, I spent these first days taking it easy (reading, playing videogames), as well as trying to find a way of fitting all the things I want to do this year into somewhat of a logical schedule… and coming up short. I simply did not have enough time.

For the past years I have been fortunate enough to be able to combine my passion for writing β€”and publishing a handful of poetry books!β€” with my daily work as a visual artist, yet at the end of the year I was offered an opportunity in my non-writing related world that was too good to pass up on. Though everything is still in its baby shoes, it is a venture that will allow me to combine my illustration work with artisan crafts, and subsequently a related shop! It has made me super exited for the months ahead, but it took me until this past weekend to realize that if I want to give it my all, something had to give.

And that something, for now, has to be my regular poetry uploads.

Because I’m a bit of a perfectionist (and my own worst enemy because of that) I want to deliver beautiful end-results, and with everything that I have planned for my new venture, trying to manage everything poetry-related to my own standards; writing poems, photographing and editing them, staying on top of social media, is going to be nearly impossible without rendering myself completely stressed out. Unless someone can supply me with Hermione Granger’s Time-Turner? That might do the trick πŸ˜‰

Still, jokes aside, this was not an easy decision to make, and I certainly hope to return with new Handwritten poems later in the year (as well as updates on my short story collection), but for now I’ll remain around to reply to comments and talk to the wonderful people I’ve met online over the years. Of course I will secondly update you all on my still-secretive arty adventure when I have things to share and show, but for now I will salute you and leave on my semi-writing-hiatus, as I sink my teeth in this exiting venture (:

Take care all of you!

Love, KJ

A belated thank you, Stone! Everything is moving along slow but steady, and I hope to share a bit more in the spring πŸ™‚
